Spray Tanning After Care

we wont tell

You must wait a full 8 hours before you shower to allow the solution to fully develop. There is a cosmetic bronzer in the solution, which means that you will have some colors immediately after you are sprayed.

The reason you need to wait 8 hours before you shower is because DHA (Dihydroxyacetone) is the main ingredient in our solution.  DHA causes a chemical reaction with the amino acids in the surface cells of the skin and needs at least 8 hours to fully develop.

The color will continue to darken as the solution develops. During your wait time, avoid getting wet, sweating, and exercising because it will cause you to streak and hinder your Bronzatura experience!

When you shower, DO NOT use Dove soap, bar soap or alcohol based soaps, they will strip your color. Be aware that the soap you use can make or break your tan! We do offer body washes that are formulated for optimal spray tan results. The best investment you can make into your tan is a proper body wash. If you have further questions regarding these products ask your technician to assist you.

Do not exfoliate with a loofahs or body scrubs. In addition be sure to PAT DRY with your towel rather than rubbing your skin dry.

Scrubbing, exfoliating, shaving and waxing will cause the tan to fade more quickly. Chlorine will also dramatically fade your spray tan so avoid chlorinated pools and hot tubs. Ocean water is fine and will not hinder your spray tan.

Be sure to moisturize as often as possible after your first shower and keep your skin moisturized throughout the duration of your spray tan. LOTION, LOTION, LOTION! For best results we recommend incorporating one of our specialized tan extender products in your daily routine.

With proper aftercare our spray tan generally lasts 5-7 days. Using any of our recommended tan extender products will help to ensure the quality of your tan and should increase the longevity as well.
